When he started ranching back in 1916, he knew what he was going to buy and how he was going to accomplish his plan. He had the patience to do it over time. He knew when to move quickly and when to move slowly. I was always after him to buy other pieces of property that were outside his game plan. But he never would. He always refused to buy marginal properties because he felt that he should never buy anything bad or sell anything good.
