Many times one of the partners, like Charlie, will justify unfaithfulness by the other’s lack of safety. “Well, if she hadn’t been so critical, I wouldn’t have had to turn to someone else for love.” Or, a wife who has an affair will say, “Well, it wouldn’t have happened if he had been meeting my needs.” Nothing is further from the truth.
