Ever since the Fall, we have protested the reality that our lives are our problem and no one else’s. All of us desire either to have someone else take responsibility for us or to avoid the consequences of our actions. This is how children and immature adults go through life. They argue that “it’s not fair” that they have to shoulder their own burdens. They drive their spouses crazy trying to shirk their jobs in life.
