We’re already primed to hear about the person who got into trouble, who lost his job, his house, his family—his happiness—because he had the hubris and audacity to challenge the status quo. And since we’re eager for this news, we notice it the few times it happens. What’s interesting about the folks I meet who are engaged and are clearly heretics is that they’ve actively talked themselves out of the fear.
