I’m the golden child our father smiles down upon, but I don’t let her see the truth. She doesn’t know what he’s done to me—what he’d do to her if given the chance. Ignorance keeps her safe.
The saying ignorance is bliss has never rang truer. In my life and in theirs, its odd really. SOmetimes it feels like I am watching a movie of my life knowing more than the characters because it was already revealed to me in the previous act. Knowing how it all falls apart.
