The Three of Us

Until Temi, I didn’t know it was even possible to decide things for myself. Becoming friends with Temi was like having someone lift the lid on my sheltered life and offer a hand to pull me out.

I pictured us content, rather than happy, because in reality, happiness is an unachievable concept designed to keep people unhappy and spending money on things they don’t need.

We cultivated a trust that few romantic relationships can claim to possess, and we knew that we had something worth protecting, no matter the cost.

Doubt and truth are so close that it’s sometimes impossible to tell them apart.
