“I love you so damn much, Zahra.” It’s amazing how three little words could set off an entire swarm of butterflies in my stomach.
“I’m not sure what I did right in my life to deserve your love, but I’ll stop at nothing to protect it.” His lips find mine and he softly kisses me. “I’ll work every damn day to make sure you always have a reason to smile, even if it means sharing them with the rest of the world.”
“And I’ll ruin anyone who threatens your happiness.”
“According to your contract, I can do exactly that until you complete an exit interview with me. That’s why you always check the fine print.” My lips gape apart. “I thought I wasn’t special enough for fine print.” “You’re so damn special to me that I don’t plan on letting anyone in your vicinity who isn’t family or female.”
His love is something a girl could get addicted to, so it’s a good thing I have the rest of forever to love him back.
He blinks again like his brain needs to process all this information. “You’re pregnant?” His voice is a whisper.
Because to be loved by him is to be cherished and protected unconditionally, and in a world like ours, it’s a gift. One I never knew I needed but can’t imagine living without.
