Salt is so simple, so mundane. As is bread. But it’s in these small, ordinary elements that God meets us, transforms us, and sends us out to transform the communities we’re in. To be the salt of the earth is small. It’s simple, mundane. But maybe a mundane, salt-of-the-earth kind of life is all we really need.
