“It’s possible I can see the appeal. But perhaps I should sample one of the moist ones.”
“All of the words on the page? All at once?” said Fern. He looked back and forth between them. “You read them one by one?” he asked curiously. “Yes!” they both cried at the same time.
“Well. Were you grabbing his ass?” “Of course not,” said Fern. “It was not. Worth. Grabbing,”
“Every book is a little mirror, and sometimes you look into it and see someone else looking back.”
She mouthed one word. “Moist.”
“Well, this is a gods-damned surprise,” puffed Gallina. “When you said you served your Lady, I gotta say, I thought you meant, like … tea.”
