“I’ve got a problem with buryin’ ’em way up high. Look at this place. It’s all sand! One bad washout and somebody’s grandpa comes slidin’ down on top of the city.”
“Cute, huh? You’re definitely drunk,” said Viv, hoisting her refilled mug. “Speak for yourself.” Maylee clinked her own mug against Fern’s glass. “I’m cute as hells.”
“Couldn’t imagine it,” said Viv, who had, in fact, imagined it.
