“What the hell have you been doing with your bedroom lamp?”

“Turning it on,” I said in response to his question. I cringed before the words fully left my mouth. “Oh God. That was terrible.” His howl of laughter drowned out my next words. “Do not ever tell anyone I said that. I—stop laughing.”

Let me in, Luna.

“To monsters.” A soft gleam brightened her eyes, and she raised her glass in turn. “To monsters.”

Her eyes glinted, and I hid a sudden smile. Mariana was about to get her ass handed to her.

That’s my girl.

“Not God, Luna.” I dipped my head, my mouth brushing hers with each word. She tasted sweet, warm, perfect. “God has no hand in what I’m about to do to you.”
