Did he think I’d let him slip away? He’d already walked into the cage with free will. There was no leaving, not till I set him free.
If he wasn’t in the mob, I would be back fucking him every night. The danger alone was enough. But the way he took control and made me question every single thing I knew to be true was fun as hell. It felt wrong and intoxicating all at once.
I couldn’t take my eyes off him. “You really should be careful of the monsters you seek out.”
It was like we were magnets unable to fight the pull. The world had made us oil and fire, a combination that should never be mixed.
“What?” “Nothing,” I answered. “Your family is important to you. I get that.” It just feels like there’s always something more important than me out there. To everyone I know.
“You’re shit at listening.” I grabbed another box and handed it to him. “I’m never letting you go, Tex Caster.”
“But I’m not craving drugs or even alcohol.” He licked his lips as his eyelids lowered and his pupils dilated. “I found something far more intoxicating and just as deadly.”
Enzo was a fresh line of coke, temptation on a plate.
“Things are changing.” He nodded. “What are you going to do about him?” Gin didn’t have to specify for me to know he was talking about Tex. My heart fluttered, and I absentmindedly rubbed at my chest. “I’m going to drag him home.” Giancarlo’s mouth tilted down in a frown. “He’s a cop.” “He’s the man I love.”
“You know what they say. If you love something, let it free or some shit like that.” I shook my head. “That is ridiculous. It should be, if you love something, lock it away so that it never escapes.”
“You’re mine. You’ve had your moment of freedom. You will never escape me again.”
“From now on, I’m the only one allowed to hurt you or make you cry. Every inch of you belongs to me.” I bit his lip. “Even your life.” Tex groaned. “Yeah. Where do I sign, Satan?”
