A University of Chicago survey found that Americans who are convinced that climate change is caused mostly or entirely by humans declined from 60 percent in 2018 to 49 percent in 2023. It was as if the climate crisis had been infected by the same virus that drove the antivaccine movement and led so many people to trust in quack cures during the Covid-19 pandemic.
