This is understandable in that more and more people now get their knowledge of the past from videos, podcasts, historical video games, and even heavy metal bands. Moreover, all of these are global. The most influential heavy metal bands, such as Iced Earth and Sabaton, have tens of millions of views and thereby influence historical memory more than any contemporary historian.
