Tell Me Everything: A Memoir

This is a work of nonfiction, based on my memories, journals, and conversations with people from that time in my life. To protect the privacy of certain individuals, some names have been changed. As we all know, memory is fallible, but this narrative recounts as truthfully as possible the way I remember things and the way they felt. That said, this narrative tells my experience from the point of view of a scared and traumatized child. As a result, while the depiction of some family members are accurate as to how they felt in the moment, in the years since, my understanding of the frailties of the human condition has softened my perspective. Now, I can see the love that had been offered, even if I didn’t see it at the time.
