Window Shopping

He’s maneuvered me to a place where I have a voice and don’t feel invisible. I didn’t see it coming.

But at the very core of me is a need to people please. Especially when it comes to my family. No matter how unlikely it seems that they’ll be satisfied with anything I do, I can’t seem to stop trying, either.

“Now, that’s a laugh worth waiting around for, Stella.” Then, more to himself, “I was wondering if you were ever going to let me hear it.”

I was given kindness and even-temperedness to combat the feeling of being lonely.

She’s window-shopping, while I’ve already bought out the whole damn store.
