“I never said I wasn’t attracted to you. I’ve always wanted you, Parker. In more ways than one. It was a matter of when my resistance would snap.” My chest is rising and falling with each breath, and I feel so hot under his scrutinizing gaze. “I suppose it was always a matter of when. And I think, deep down, we both knew this would happen eventually. I certainly hoped it would, though I never could admit it out loud.”
“Parker,” he growls, and my eyes snap open. “Stop overthinking things. I’ve been waiting eight years for you. To love you. Don’t you think it’s about time someone did it properly?”
My subconscious lowers the wall I keep up, allowing him inside. Allowing him to tell me what to do next. It’s strange… this feeling. Of letting go completely. He doesn’t control me. He is in control of the situation, and for someone like me, it means no more overthinking. Trusting him completely.
“My heart,” he adds, his voice softer. “You hold my heart in your hands, so please be gentle.”
