Except it does. Every time he says something sweet or even a bit corny, it sends my head straight into the clouds, at the same time vines of barbed wire wrap around my heart.
“How do you want me?” I pant into his lips when I break away for air. “Because I’m dying here, Nix.” “Maybe that’s exactly what I want,” he muses, lips traveling the length of my jaw before reaching my ear. “You ever think about that?”
A shudder has me trembling where I kneel before him, and I don’t think there’s a chance in hell of me holding on until then. “Then you better get to it, because I can’t—” “You can, and you will.” His voice is raspy, tainted with hunger and desire. “After all, you want to make me happy, don’t you?” More than fucking anything.
