“You’re safe with me.” I can only see her eyes through the gap in her visor. They’re pale, but this afternoon they sparkle. I haven’t seen her this excited before. I like it. It changes her whole face. Makes her warm instead of full of ice. “I promise,” she says. I can’t see her mouth moving, but her expression tells me everything.
