Alexei had the momentary, completely bizarre thought that he wanted to steal him. To put the stranger in his pocket and take him back to his apartment, stash him there for the foreseeable future. Just…keep him.

Alexei huffed a not quite laugh. “No cupcakes, kotyonok.” Jay’s heart warmed at the nickname Alexei had started giving him. It meant “kitten” in Russian.
“Um…” Jay dithered over answering, filling a water glass and bringing it over to the couch while he thought it over. (Ferdy always needed water after a run, and Alexei had just had a walk, so that was probably a good idea for him too.)
(which begged the question, the existence of what else?).
FINALLY SOMEONE THOUGHT THIS
Jay had already arranged a tall glass of water and a plate of what looked like Pop-Tarts on the coffee table, standing off to the side like the maître d’ of some fancy restaurant.
Could Jay be anymore precious ??

Oh no indeed. Im already crying
“Jay’s love language is words of affirmation.” Jay nodded solemnly. “And also all the other ones.”
