The Art of Letter Writing Any position of leadership involves a considerable amount of correspondence, and letters are self-revealing. Take Paul for example. We know more about his moral integrity, intellectual honesty, and spiritual life from his letters than from any other source. When a difficult situation required his attention, he dipped his pen in tears, not acid. “For I wrote to you out of great distress and anguish of heart” (2 Corinthians 2:4).
