Yeah, you know the joke about Rusty Russell: They say the grass is always greener on the other side. Well, ol’ Rusty finally found a football field that’s got no grass. So why had Russell chosen to make the leap? Because gut instinct had told him that there was magic inside this godforsaken place. The orphanage just needed somebody to warm it up: the kids needed someone to believe in. Russell knew that football could jump-start a life. Football had been his ticket off the farm.
