When Daniel prayed, God sent the answer immediately, but there were forces that prohibited it from being manifested right away. We read in the next verse the angel’s explanation for the delay: “The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days” (v. 13). As Daniel had persisted in prayer, the angel had persisted in his warring. Even though Daniel did not see any sign of the answer manifesting during all that time, it was in motion.
