And this is where we come face to face with the seed of the matter. The beginning of something that grew far beyond expectation: Flipped was noticed by Rob Reiner because somewhere in California, a librarian championed the book and got it on the list. My movie deal traces back to a librarian. I like this thought. I like this path. I like remembering that little things can make big ripples. And I like to remind myself that if I move through life contributing little things—a simple kindness, a favor, a helping hand—some of those things might touch people in ways I could never imagine.
