When one knows little to nothing about the ideal to which they intend to aspire, any lesser objective becomes almost as folly. Hence: whether or not they accomplish that lesser objective, they will "miss the mark" just as surely.
Endeavour first to identify an ideal—or the ideal—and then one becomes knowledgeable enough to improve albeit incrementally toward that objective.
