One day you may catch yourself smiling at the voice in your head, as you would smile at the antics of a child. This means that you no longer take the content of your mind all that seriously, as your sense of self does not depend on it.

Very often. However, is the smile for the memory or thought that I am having, or, as Tolle says, I am no longer taking the voice in my head too seriously? If I am thinking of something that makes me sad or angry, does Tolle mean I should be smling at this as well? Perhaps I am acting as a slave once more to my Thinker-Brain.
