On December 2, we were all found guilty of what Judge Rumpff defined as “statutory communism”—as opposed to what he said “is commonly known as communism.” According to the statutes of the Suppression of Communism Act, virtually anyone who opposed the government in any way could be defined as—and therefore convicted of—being a “statutory” Communist, even without ever having been a member of the party.
