“You’re not a terrible king.” Aristide reached out, setting his hand on the back of a chair. I vaguely noted he didn’t sit down like he usually did. “You have protected your people for decades. That they’ve survived this long is astounding. You just don’t care about all the showmanship your family loved. And thank goodness—the number of war parades your brothers threw was exhausting. It made it impossible to get any work done.”
