I slowed my walk to a crawl and even paused to wave to the uncles on the porch. “Finally, a love life!” one of the uncles cackled. “Maybe.” Another one who had a perfectly trimmed mustache swirled his iced tea. “Looks a tad too scared for love.” “Don’t worry, Noctus,” the first uncle shouted. “We’ll be there for you if this fails!” “I was actually referring to the young lady.” “Oh, in that case: chin up, lady!” the last uncle hooted. “You can take him!” I laughed nervously and weakly waved to the trio.
