Didn't know Steinbeck could be so funny 🤣 😂😁

perhaps that might be the way to write this book—to open the page and to let the stories crawl in by themselves.

Have only read Of Mice and Men from Steinbeck, and this just really spoke to me. Knew from the first page that this novel was going to be something special.

sitting on the pipes in the vacant lot, dangling their feet in the mallow weeds and taking the sun while they discoursed slowly and philosophically of matters of interest but of no importance.
