You broke the same toe twice while we were together.” Jayden opened the back door of his truck and let John out. “My sister, Julie, once saw you fall down an entire set of stairs, get up, and then trip up the same stairs. She called me and asked if you had an inner ear problem.”

Her lips wobbled. “I think I ruined a couple’s proposal this morning. I’m pretty sure my sobbing will be very loud in their video of it.”
