Acolytes were humans who had been given tastes of a vampire’s blood that granted benefits like increased strength, speed, mental acuity, and extended youthfulness for as long as the blood drinking continued. Acolytes were people the vampires had determined would be useful to have access to in this universe. Doctors, lawyers, politicians, business owners and the like were often chosen for these positions.
