her swagger as she'd walked into the infirmary,
Jsalt80
Didn’t she say his back was to her? How could he see her swagger as she walked in?

"The gods weren't nice people, and those who they sent to Earth were rebels, banished here for their part in a rebellion."
Jsalt80
That’s not necessarily true about those sent to earth. They were trying to build equality, or at least make the quality of life for the kra-ell better.

She got in his face. "Next time, if there is a next time, I will not trust your promises." "Ouch."
Jsalt80
He promised to wake her up if Igor returned. He didn’t. So he didn’t break his promise and she has no reason not to trust them. 🙄🙄

Flag icon
Was he kidding himself by thinking that Jade wanted to owe him so he could collect on the debt? And why the hell did he want her even more after her vicious show of fangs and red eyes?
Jsalt80
Oh so he could disengage from Aliyah because she hunted and drank blood as a hybrid, but he’s going after a pureblood Prime? 🙄🙄

Flag icon
"If you were repulsed by Aliya's occasional need for blood, how are you going to tolerate a female who can't subsist on anything else?"
Jsalt80
Glad this was addressed.

The little ones didn't understand what was going on, and they were scared.
Jsalt80
They should be with Yamanu.
23%
Flag icon
"What are your objections to bringing them to the village?" "Isn't that obvious?" "Not at all. You've already allowed three former members of Jade's tribe to join the clan, and the experience was positive.
Jsalt80
Exactly.
23%
Flag icon
That's one. In addition, Igor will be searching for them, and bringing them here might lead him to us.
Jsalt80
Speaking of, they need to commander a clinic and run everyone through the MR machine.
25%
Flag icon
We have to get an MRI on the ship before it leaves the port and do the scanning and removal en route. They can dump the trackers in the water before reaching the North Sea and disappear."
Jsalt80
Since they have to wait for the ship to get there anyway, why not just compel a doctor to open a clinic and start scanning overnight, starting with the humans that leave the compound regularly, then the most human looking ones and so on and so forth. I swear this shit be not strategic or well thought out. The author already said how many hours it would take the ship to be ready to leave and to get to their port, plus Turner is looking for overnight lodging so it just makes sense.🙄🙄
29%
Flag icon
There aren't that many paved roads in Karelia, so if any force was coming, we should have crossed paths with it, and if he sent the Russian Air Force to bomb the compound, we would have heard the explosions."
Jsalt80
Maybe Vaskar lied and just wanted them to take them to their home as a contingency so Igor could track them.

Toven wrapped his arm around Mia's shoulders. "I assume that you are talking about escape pods?"
Jsalt80
Does he know about the ones in Luga Lake? That used to live where Aliya made her home.

Most probably ended up in the Arctic Ocean."
Jsalt80
My geography is a miss, but isn’t Greenland near the Artic-ish. Maybe Syssi’s Krall theme is more accurate than she thought…

Flag icon
The gods had even less of a motive to assassinate the queen's children, especially since the peace treaty was so tenuous.
Jsalt80
Unless they were god-kra-ell hybrids…

He'd demanded true facts from her, not speculations.
Jsalt80
So how did she tell the story of their history then?
33%
Flag icon
Jade shook her head. "We can't experiment like that. There are too few pureblooded and hybrid females, and we are having as many children as we can. Our fertility is much better than the gods', but it's a fraction of that of the humans."
Jsalt80
You’ve got a thousand years to experiment “like that”. 🙄🙄 What could it hurt?
36%
Flag icon
Where do you propose we take the Kra-ell?" Turner shrugged. "The airliners can layover in some remote airport in Canada to refuel and continue to our airstrip. I don't think they are too big to land there."
Jsalt80
Did Kian miss the “our airstrip” part, sounds like Turner is still bringing them to the village…
36%
Flag icon
"The issues you raised are all valid, and we need to work them out, but think of the alternative. Are we comfortable with such a large group of Kra-ell somewhere where we cannot monitor them?
Jsalt80
Exactly. Kian needs to stop. He also needs to talk to Jade. Plus, the live on a mountain so they can still hunt like Aliya and Vrog do.

Flag icon
Besides, we are immortals." Phinas thumped his chest. "I bet the Kra-ell don't have a problem with the cold."
Jsalt80
They told them they were immortals?
46%
Flag icon
"I forgot all about the human descendants away at the university. We will need to collect them. They won't know what happened to their families."
Jsalt80
Shouldn’t the humans whose families they belonged to have mentioned them? And why are they already in school when Sophia hasn’t been gone two weeks and she was worried about fall semester starting. But then again, she had a month of prep before going to the retreat so it throws off my timing…
47%
Flag icon
Except, the gods back home hadn't allowed unions between gods and Kra-ell either, and a hybrid child was considered an abomination,
Jsalt80
I believe the royal twins are the result…

Gripping him gently at the base, she flicked her incredible tongue around the top portion of his erection, and as she started moving it up and down, the pleasure was so intense that Phinas knew he had to stop her, or he would shoot his load in seconds.

I thought he was deflated…🙄🙄

"It wasn't the best time to leave everything behind and manage things remotely, but it is what it is."
Jsalt80
And staying behind wouldn’t have changed the economy or interest rates one it.🙄🙄

"You look worried." Dandor fell in step with Phinas. "Is there trouble?" Not the kind that Dandor imagined, but yeah. What had happened last night with Jade bothered Phinas more than it should, but he wasn't about to share it with the guy. "That's what the meeting is about, and you'll get the update along with everyone else." He opened the door to the conference room where his men had assembled.
Jsalt80
I thought Dandor was Kra-ell…🤔
55%
Flag icon
"If he thinks that humans took his people, which he has no reason to doubt because he doesn't know about us, he will for sure try to sink the ship and then take his sweet time to fish the survivors out of the water. That way, he will kill all the humans who will freeze to death and save only the Kra-ell and maybe the hybrids."
Jsalt80
Did he forget that Igor had compelled everyone? So that would mean Igor thinks that a human has stronger compelling power than him.🙄🙄
58%
Flag icon
They were operating in the dark, trying to guess what Igor's next move would be, and he didn't like their position. He didn't like that Toven and Mia were planning to remain with the Kra-ell. Hell, he didn't like any of his people being in danger because of the decisions he'd made.
Jsalt80
Why didn’t William take Igor’s hard drive from his computer or any of the ones from the inner circle? If he was tracking his people, there had to be software he was using somewhere. Even his ternary for his trip. His email used for business correspondence… something. 🙄🙄 They used credit cards so there was obviously a money trail for day to day stuff that they could glean information from.

He had the appearance of a Middle Easterner rather than a Scandinavian. His complexion, hair, and eyes were dark, and there was a calm and confident vitality to him that was reassuring.

I wonder if that’s Igor…

She turned to Merlin. "Why didn't you start removing the trackers while we were waiting for the ship to be ready? You could've been done with it by now."
Jsalt80
Exactly
66%
Flag icon
First, I have to find the tracker, and that takes time. It requires a lot of time when that needs to be done for over three hundred people.
Jsalt80
Yeah and some could have been done already at the venue.🙄🙄

Flag icon
Why had he chosen a Russian name? To hide his true identity?
Jsalt80
Maybe he’s one of the twins…🤔
67%
Flag icon
Given Igor's immense compulsion power, Yamanu suspected that he was a half-breed. Half god and half Kra-ell. If he were, he was a demigod, which meant that he should be much more handsome than the average Kra-ell.

When the girl translated, Isla looked shocked by his offer, and her answer in rapid Finnish took an entire minute.
Jsalt80
Um, don’t they have translating earbuds? Isn’t that what William modified to make compulsion blocking earbuds….🙄🙄

he felt obligated to accept the invitation because refusing was considered a great offense. Would you consider that coercion?"
Jsalt80
Yes. Duh! You just said declining would be a great offense! WTH?

"It worked fine for hundreds of thousands of years. You have to understand that our society has different values. The tribe was the ultimate entity, not the individual. The females were expected to produce offspring whether they enjoyed motherhood or not. They didn't have options either. We all had to do our share, and everyone knew what their duties were."
Jsalt80
You’re not in Kansas anymore, Boo.

Jade glared at him. "It wasn't your promise to make."
Jsalt80
Yes it is. The humans don’t belong to the Kra-ell, so they don’t have to live by their terms.

She seemed to know what she was doing, so maybe it wasn't, but then it didn't require much practice or even imagination to know how to kiss.
Jsalt80
So, how’s that work with both of their fangs elongated?
