Was he kidding himself by thinking that Jade wanted to owe him so he could collect on the debt? And why the hell did he want her even more after her vicious show of fangs and red eyes?
Oh so he could disengage from Aliyah because she hunted and drank blood as a hybrid, but he’s going after a pureblood Prime? 🙄🙄
We have to get an MRI on the ship before it leaves the port and do the scanning and removal en route. They can dump the trackers in the water before reaching the North Sea and disappear."
Since they have to wait for the ship to get there anyway, why not just compel a doctor to open a clinic and start scanning overnight, starting with the humans that leave the compound regularly, then the most human looking ones and so on and so forth. I swear this shit be not strategic or well thought out. The author already said how many hours it would take the ship to be ready to leave and to get to their port, plus Turner is looking for overnight lodging so it just makes sense.🙄🙄
There aren't that many paved roads in Karelia, so if any force was coming, we should have crossed paths with it, and if he sent the Russian Air Force to bomb the compound, we would have heard the explosions."
Maybe Vaskar lied and just wanted them to take them to their home as a contingency so Igor could track them.
Jade shook her head. "We can't experiment like that. There are too few pureblooded and hybrid females, and we are having as many children as we can. Our fertility is much better than the gods', but it's a fraction of that of the humans."
Where do you propose we take the Kra-ell?" Turner shrugged. "The airliners can layover in some remote airport in Canada to refuel and continue to our airstrip. I don't think they are too big to land there."
"The issues you raised are all valid, and we need to work them out, but think of the alternative. Are we comfortable with such a large group of Kra-ell somewhere where we cannot monitor them?
Exactly. Kian needs to stop. He also needs to talk to Jade. Plus, the live on a mountain so they can still hunt like Aliya and Vrog do.
"I forgot all about the human descendants away at the university. We will need to collect them. They won't know what happened to their families."
Shouldn’t the humans whose families they belonged to have mentioned them? And why are they already in school when Sophia hasn’t been gone two weeks and she was worried about fall semester starting. But then again, she had a month of prep before going to the retreat so it throws off my timing…
"You look worried." Dandor fell in step with Phinas. "Is there trouble?" Not the kind that Dandor imagined, but yeah. What had happened last night with Jade bothered Phinas more than it should, but he wasn't about to share it with the guy. "That's what the meeting is about, and you'll get the update along with everyone else." He opened the door to the conference room where his men had assembled.
"If he thinks that humans took his people, which he has no reason to doubt because he doesn't know about us, he will for sure try to sink the ship and then take his sweet time to fish the survivors out of the water. That way, he will kill all the humans who will freeze to death and save only the Kra-ell and maybe the hybrids."
Did he forget that Igor had compelled everyone? So that would mean Igor thinks that a human has stronger compelling power than him.🙄🙄
They were operating in the dark, trying to guess what Igor's next move would be, and he didn't like their position. He didn't like that Toven and Mia were planning to remain with the Kra-ell. Hell, he didn't like any of his people being in danger because of the decisions he'd made.
Why didn’t William take Igor’s hard drive from his computer or any of the ones from the inner circle? If he was tracking his people, there had to be software he was using somewhere. Even his ternary for his trip. His email used for business correspondence… something. 🙄🙄 They used credit cards so there was obviously a money trail for day to day stuff that they could glean information from.
"Then it's rape. He has no choice but to accept or live the rest of his life as a hermit."
"It worked fine for hundreds of thousands of years. You have to understand that our society has different values. The tribe was the ultimate entity, not the individual. The females were expected to produce offspring whether they enjoyed motherhood or not. They didn't have options either. We all had to do our share, and everyone knew what their duties were."
