There is a danger, however, in relying too heavily on the language of mental health. My concern is that our expectations of psychological treatments are not realistic. We hope that a diagnosis will provide concrete, specific answers. The unknown is much more frightening than the known, so it can be a great relief to receive a diagnosis.
