To every girl who was fascinated by monsters
“Does joking include a bloody nose and lips, soldier?” He’s asking Matvey, but he’s still looking at me. “Sometimes, yes, sir,” Matvey replies confidently like the lowlife he is. “Very well.” The captain finally pushes back, but before I can breathe properly, he swings his fist and punches Matvey across the face so hard, he reels back from the power of it.

He looks like a human weapon.
I’m ninety-nine percent sure Lipovsky is a woman. The only reason I keep addressing him as a he is because that’s the gender he chooses to display on the outside. In fact, he’s making a lot of effort to avoid standing out.

“Thanks for the info. I’ll call when I find any fucks to give.”
His free hand strokes my cheek so gently and lovingly, I think I’m going to melt. “You can do this, Solnyshko.”

I must be dreaming or else…or else…Captain Kirill just called me his sun. A term of endearment that’s only used between lovers. My jaw is about to hit the ground when he strokes my chin, subtly closing my parted lips.
I put the knife down and smile awkwardly. I do know how to use it, but only in combat, not in the kitchen.

“Why am I so weak?” She dabs at her eyes with both hands even as she cries like a baby. “You’re not weak.” I pat her shoulder. “You’re just human.”
Whatever her reason, I don’t give a fuck. She made the mistake of offering her existence to me and I’ll have so much fun molding her into whatever the fuck I wish her to be.
“So what happens now?” I ask after I finish cleaning the blood. “Now”—a slow smirk tilts his lips—“I take over the world, Sasha. And you’ll be right by my side.”

“Are you blushing, Sasha?” I try to swallow, but it gets stuck at the base of my throat, so I just shake my head once. “Your skin looks red.” “That’s because…I’m hot.” “That you are.”

Kirill is a manipulative, emotionless monster with a skewed sense of morality, and yet I’ve never been so drawn to another person as I am to him. It’s illogical, it’s madness, but I’m afraid I can’t deny it anymore.
She’s quick to hide her reaction, but not quick enough to conceal the red hue that covers her neck and ears. Fucking adorable.
It’s almost as if she…trusts me. Fuck. I’m the last man she should trust.
Right now, that problem isn’t the assholes in the organization whose graves I’m slowly but surely digging. It isn’t my idiot brother or my useless mother. It isn’t even Karina’s wasted life. It’s the reminder that Sasha has a man somewhere.
Did he just mention texting? As in, Sasha is texting him? I’m seriously contemplating why I didn’t let Viktor shoot him last night in that fucking duffel bag.
