I pinch the bridge of my nose, “Fine if you’re all too scared,” I taunt with a note of my own amusement, “then I’ll go and see if they want food.” As I head toward the stairs, I suddenly realise that they’re all following me and when I turn to ask why, Atlas says, “Just in case they aren’t ready to wake up, I’m not missing that; it’s always funny.” I shake my head as I push the door open and say, “Guys, I was just . . .” Before I can finish my sentence, a knife flies through the air and embeds in the door frame by my head. I quickly close the door again before another knife flies and turn back to the guys, trying to keep a straight face. “They aren’t ready to get up yet,” I announce, and there’s a beat of silence before we all burst out laughing. “It’s never boring around here,” Rage mutters.
