lean my head on his shoulder. “You don’t have anything to worry about, darlin’.” Thayden visibly jerks and turns to face me. “I’ve graduated to pet names?” I giggle. “Maybe. Though I think I prefer tiger for you. What with all the growling.”
I groan, but the cramp is starting to lessen. I dig my fingers into the back of my leg, massaging through the pain. “Fine,” I grunt through clenched teeth. “Just a cramp.” The banging stops. His throat clears. “Oh. Cramps? You have your period?” I shake my head, dropping it into my hands as I laugh silently. Thayden talking about periods is about enough to get me out of my funk. He’s trying to be casual, but it doesn’t fit, coming off like a parent using their teenager’s lingo. I wonder if he’s ever talked to a woman about periods before.
