Faking Under the Mistletoe

I don’t need to defend myself to them and I definitely don’t need their approval. I know who I am. That’s all that matters.

We’re alone together.

“I’d hate to see you get hurt because you trusted the wrong person. You’re a good girl, Liv. People will take advantage of that.”

There are some things in life that you just can’t fake—knowing calculus, liking tequila, and the complete devastation of watching someone you love move on with someone else.

I do a very good job of destroying men who think they’re untouchable. It’s probably my favorite pastime.”

Men have been disappointing women for centuries.

“And I know it’s my own fault. I know I do too much. I try to please too many people. But that’s me. I don’t want to disappoint anyone.

“Aren’t most things complicated? Easy isn’t really fulfilling.”

Because even when his face is foamy and he’s annoyed, he still looks at her like she’s the best thing that has ever happened to him.
