“Are you doing all of this for me?” “What will you say if I tell you yes?” I smile and reach for his hand. He gives it to me, and I feel an immediate warmth run through my body. “Then I’d say that this was, without a doubt, the sweetest, most thoughtful, thing anyone has ever done for me.”
“It’s perfect.” I look up at Trent, who I didn’t realize is also looking at me. Am I supposed to feel a tingle down my spine just because of the way a man looks at me? Because the way he’s looking at me now, like there is nothing around us and we are the only two people here—it’s making me feel some kind of way. A way I don’t know I’ve ever felt before.
“You ready?” Trent asks as he pulls his car into his parking spot at Left for Love. “Yup,” I say, taking off my seatbelt as Trent quickly exits the car and comes around to open my door for me. “Such a gentleman.” He grabs my hand and brings me in for one more kiss. “Only when you want me to be.” A wave of heat rushes through my body with his words, though he seems unaffected. Nope, he just takes my hand and leads me toward the door.
“Go,” I say as he leans in and gives me a quick kiss on the cheek. Which, of course, immediately turns my cheeks redder than my hair. But I can’t help it. Between his sweet kisses and that sexy business-casual thing he has going on today—including black-framed glasses—I’m a goner.
