Try to think through what skills someone needs to succeed without you. Teach those skills incrementally. Sure, this advice is easy to say, but it’s really hard to do when you’re in the thick of things. Spend some time thinking through ways you can inject that teaching into everyday work and interactions. Try to work on aligning people instead to the outcomes you are looking for from them.
