Okay. Maybe I’m not super calm. Maybe I could use some deep breaths. De-escalate. How does one de-escalate? I don’t know. I’m usually already de-escalated.

“You know what puzzles me?” Jack asks. “The entire gamut of human emotions?” “That, too.”

“You could be my entire world,” he whispers in my ear before moving to my collarbone. “If you let me.”

I think I might be happy. Though due to a lack of hands-on experience, I cannot be sure.
