if one looks at the state of American democracy from the outside, it’s a country wherein one of the two major political parties is giving in to the impulses of authoritarianism, xenophobia, propaganda, and conspiracy in order to leverage power. If it means maintaining their cultural supremacy and minority rule, they are willing to place all their hopes in a wannabe autocrat like Trump.
