“people of God” refers to restored men in their completeness, pursuing not merely the highest good but the complete good. The people of God are like what Adam’s race would have been, only they are under the Final Adam—Jesus Christ. They remain human and, by grace, are fully human, having been sanctified and having received the divine image.
