It’s not that I don’t know how to talk to people or that I dislike people... well, I do dislike a lot of people. It’s just that something has always felt off. Like I don’t belong.
I feel like a caged animal, and my heart beats rapidly against my chest. I’m surrounded by nothing other than him.
“I’d give you everything,” I tell her honestly.
“Listen, we’ve got to turn this sad-girl shit into something productive. Do you want to kill someone?”
“She needs to find herself, Lucifer. She barely got to live before she died, and she’s just supposed to know how to fit into an ancient political structure? Your expectations are too high. She wasn’t even out of college; she killed her last boyfriend for fuck’s sake, and you want an eternity-long relationship with her?”
While killing frat boys is always a blast, it just didn’t hit the spot.
“There’s no comparison, love. My darkness calls to yours.”
