“They took Will, they locked him up!” She wailed.

Damn.

“You tell the Duchess that you’re bringing him cocoa. When you give him the cocoa, tell him to scale the wall with the cloak and helmet on, and meet me at the stable.”

How is she going to get a cloak and helmet to him? Does she use a trolley to bring hot cocoa?

did not want to tell her that saving him would not only give me a bargaining chip with the werewolves, but that I’d be saving Dominic’s brother.

What? A bargaining chip with the werewolves? That’s not saving him, it’s using him.

Not until I opened the door and saw a woman rifling through his desk.

She’s a spy! She’s one of the six!

She straightened and strode past me. “I was never here. Understood?” “Of course.” Like I’d done with Dominic, I stayed in the curtsey, sweating, legs shaking, until she was well past.

I hope she remembers what she just learned about the spies and decides to let Dominic know about her being in there.

I passed several vampires as I hurried back to my room, but none of them so much as looked at me. Their eyes were glazed, and they didn’t look like they were all there.

Scarlet! Did she wipe their memories?

I blew out a quick breath. “The Duchess⁠—” “I am here, Sienna.” Jesus fucking Christ.

I’d barely finished tightening the cinch when the Duchess swept in, blood across her face and dripping from her chin. “Girls. Take care of my nephew.” Will stumbled in after her.

Oh my!

Then helped Bee up onto the slightly smaller bay mare. “Go,” I said. “I’ll catch you.” Bee took hold of Will’s reins and led him out, then they took off at a gallop.

Bee can ride a horse….

I tipped my chin up. “No one catches me, unless I let them, my lady.”

Earl Anthony just caught you last night…

would never think that boy could hurt me but . . .” She slid to the floor, her skirts pooling out around her. Effortless, she looked graceful even in defeat.
