I looked up into his eyes. “After our brothers…after everything…what do you want from me, Kaz?” He leaned in. His mouth was just a breath from mine. “I want everything from you, mysh. Every fucking thing.”
Kazimir watched me with an intensity that I was unable to fathom. He wore a designer tuxedo. As I gazed at him, my pulse jumped. I’m going to tear that tux off him tonight. He grinned as if he read my thought.
I didn’t have to, but I yelled at her. “Stay in your room!” “Okay.” She glanced over my shoulder and hit me with a fiery gaze. “We can talk later.” Translation: I am my own person. You will not tell me what to do. Be happy that I didn’t embarrass you in front of your men. I nodded at the silent meaning she’d sent.
“Equals?” “Not equals.” He grinned. “I could never get on your level, mysh.”
To Darryl, I’d put him in the foster care system. I’d made him fatherless and poor. And it didn’t matter how much I gave him or how I protected him. To Darryl, I’d killed his father and favorite uncle. I’d taken two of the most important people out of his life.
Earlier, I’d thought Misha wasn’t a killer. He’d hid it well. But now I knew that he was a force to reckon with. I didn’t plan on having any disagreements or problems with him in the future.
The sound of his voice brought the widest smile to my face. It had been a long time since I’d been this excited to kill someone.
“She put the sperm inside of me. Kazimir’s sperm. I didn’t know.” Valentina’s bottom lip quivered. “I woke up that morning and she left some cruel letter saying it. The next week she sent the children’s book Vasilia the Beautiful with a card that said that Kazimir and my baby would enjoy the story.”
