If you look at the things that the far right in our country are becoming angered about, they are things that Russia has already waged war on in their own country: gay pride parades, trans rights, feminism. For a moment, it appeared America was making headway on these issues, and then suddenly a dramatic shift backward. The man whom the Kremlin selected as our new leader was pushing these ideologies. That is what brought us right to the front door of January 6th.
“Do you know how many uprisings happened in Russia before the tsar finally fell?”
“For all of our flaws as a country, as with any democracy, there are checks and balances in place. Such erosion would be catastrophic, but we have begun to see that erosion occur. Loss of faith in the Supreme Court, suspicion about the integrity of our elections, police brutality, and the list goes on.
Putin doesn’t give a damn about any of them. He has just blasted every red line out of the water and continues forward with his bloody campaign. His war. There isn’t a too far for him, which is the too far for me. This is about fundamentally changing our system of government to dismantle us as a nation. He wishes to consume Ukraine and other border countries back into Russia and rebuild Russia and the United States into tsardoms,
