White folks want us to move on from all the violence that is perpetrated against us, but how can we, when we’re faced with their brutality daily?

I hope from this point forward these men will see that a seat at the table, even if it’s in the back, is better than no seat, no table, no invitation at all.

Melancholy. That’s it exactly, I think. A deep melancholy at the state of the world and the futility of my efforts.
