Despite everything that life hadn’t seen fit to give Clementine—namely any sort of attraction of his own—he still wanted that. He wanted it so bone-deep that he’d never felt comfortable identifying as strictly asexual; even if he’d never had those feelings, he yearned for them. He wanted to feel that nearly-irresistible draw to another real person the way he did to fictional characters, to have his gaze pulled to them not because of the blood in their veins but because it was their blood, because their body called to him and their soul clicked with his. He wanted to want someone.
