When you’re young and full of invulnerable optimism, dreams are as easy as “Oh, I’ll just try that.” Everything seems attainable—doubly so if you’ve got someone alongside you.

Being close to your family has both its perks and faults. On the one hand, they often know what you need and help you better than anyone. On the other hand, they remember things you said years ago and don’t hesitate to bring them up if you ever change your mind.

When people find out about your trauma, they start treating you differently. It’s way easier to hide all of that. From everyone.
